Job summary

Manorlakean is seeking a dedicated housekeeping staff member to maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary living environment for residents. The role includes cleaning common areas and resident rooms, managing linens, and following daily schedules under the direction of the Maintenance Director and Executive Director.

Ideal candidates will be at least 18, pass background checks, and demonstrate professionalism, empathy, and strong interpersonal skills when interacting with residents and families.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Background screening required by law.
• Sales or leasing experience is noted as a qualification.

Responsibilities

• Keep community clean, orderly and attractive.
• Follow housekeeping schedule set by leadership.
• Clean all common areas and resident rooms/bathrooms.
• Dust, vacuum, make beds; maintain laundry and linen supplies.
• Adhere to MSDS for cleaning chemicals and safety.
• Coordinate daily laundry with other departments.
• Attend orientation, training and staff meetings.

Job description

To perform the day-to-day activities of the Housekeeping Department in accordance with expectations, and as directed by the Maintenance Director and/or the Executive Director, to ensure that the community is maintained in clean, safe, and sanitary manner and to ensure that an adequate supply of linen is on hand at all times to meet the needs of the residents.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Ensure that the community is clean, orderly and in an attractive condition.

• Follow the housekeeping schedule established by the Maintenance Director and Lead Housekeeper.

• Clean all common areas in the community.

• Clean resident rooms and bathrooms, including but not limited to, dusting, vacuuming, and making beds according to schedule.

• Familiar with Material Safety Data Sheets for all housekeeping chemicals and cleaning supplies.

• Ensure that equipment, work and supply carts are properly cleaned and stored.

• Ensure that an adequate level of laundry and linen supplies is always maintained and advise the Maintenance Director of supply needs.

• Any other tasks, assignments, projects or requests as deemed by management.

• Attend and participate in orientation, training, in-service educational activities and staff meetings and participate in departmental studies and projects as assigned.

• Ensure that work and cleaning schedules are followed.

• Conduct yourself professionally and contribute to, service-oriented environment through their appearance, communication, and interactions with residents, families, visitors, and colleagues.

• Report all incidents and accidents to the Maintenance Director.

• Coordinate daily laundry services with other departments when performing routing laundry assignments.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Must be 18 years of age, or older

• Employment is contingent upon successful completion of all background screening requirements permitted by applicable federal, state, and local law.

• Demonstrated previous sales or leasing experience.

• Must read, write, speak, and understand English.

• Must demonstrate professionalism, empathy, patience, and effective interpersonal skills when interacting with residents, families, visitors, and team members.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED) with some college preferred.

• Experience working with seniors is preferred.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Must be able to perform the essential functions of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation, including standing, walking, bending, reaching, lifting, transferring, and assisting residents as required by the position.

• Must be able to squat, reach, and stretch without distress.

• Must be able to tolerate extended periods of walking and standing.
