Job summary

Ardenwoods is seeking a dedicated Housekeeper to maintain a clean, safe environment across the community. This role supports residents by ensuring high standards of cleanliness, infection control, and comfort in living spaces.

The Housekeeper will follow established schedules, assist with daily tasks, and work as part of the housekeeping team to uphold dignity and privacy for residents while complying with all facility policies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Experience in healthcare facility housekeeping preferred.

Responsibilities

• Clean and sanitize resident rooms, bathrooms, and common areas per schedule.
• Dust, sweep, mop, vacuum, and disinfect surfaces regularly.
• Change bed linens and maintain neat, orderly environments.
• Restock soap, towels, and paper products in resident areas.
• Operate cleaning equipment safely and follow product instructions.
• Report maintenance or safety concerns promptly.
• Follow infection control and HIPAA policies as required.
• Collaborate with residents, families, and staff to deliver quality service.

Summary

The Housekeeper is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and comfortable environment throughout the Ardenwood's Community. This role supports the health, dignity, and well-being of our residents by ensuring housekeeping services meet facility standards, regulatory requirements, and infection control protocols.

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent (GED) preferred.
• Experience in health care facility housekeeping preferred.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Knowledge of cleaning methods, sanitation practices, and safe use of housekeeping equipment and supplies.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and complete tasks with attention to detail.
• Understanding infection control and universal precautions in a healthcare or residential setting.
• Physical ability to lift, move, and transport supplies or equipment and perform repetitive cleaning tasks.
• Dependability and flexibility to adapt to facility scheduling needs.
• Commitment to maintaining resident dignity, confidentiality, and a safe living environment.

Essential Functions

• Clean and sanitize resident rooms, bathrooms, common areas, dining areas, and offices following established schedules and infection control procedures.
• Perform routine housekeeping tasks including dusting, sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, trash removal, and surface disinfecting.
• Change bed linens, make beds, and clean furniture, fixtures, and equipment to maintain a neat and orderly environment.
• Replenish supplies such as soap, paper towels, and toilet paper in resident and common areas.
• Safely use housekeeping equipment and cleaning agents according to facility guidelines and product instructions.
• Maintain cleanliness of entryways, hallways, and reception areas to promote a welcoming environment.
• Report maintenance or repair needs to the supervisor promptly.
• Follow all safety, infection control, universal precautions, and hazardous materials policies to ensure resident and staff safety.
• Work cooperatively with residents, families, visitors, and team members to provide quality service.
• This position is designated as essential to the operations of the organization. Team members in this role may be required to report into work (on-site at the community) during emergencies, inclement weather, or other situations when the organization remains operational.
• Comply with all company policies, procedures, and applicable laws, including HIPAA and the Code of Conduct, completing required training and reporting concerns promptly.

Physical Demands

• Always required to stand and walk throughout the shift.
• Frequently required to perform repetitive motions such as mopping, wiping, or vacuuming.
• Frequently required to bend, stoop, twist, squat, and reach at, above, and below shoulder level.
• Frequently required to lift or carry items up to 10 pounds.
• Frequently required to push/pull housekeeping carts or equipment up to 85 pounds.
• Occasionally required to lift or carry up to 50 pounds.

Work Environment

• Always works indoors in resident rooms, common areas, offices, and utility spaces.
• Frequently exposed to cleaning chemicals, dust, and wet surfaces; PPE provided as needed.

• Occasionally works in noisy environments due to housekeeping equipment or facility operations.
• Occasionally works outdoors for trash removal, landscaping support, or entryway cleaning.
• Works in environments where residents and staff may be present; interact courteously and professionally.
