Job summary

Ohio Living is seeking a dedicated Laundry Attendant to manage daily laundry duties for residents, ensuring clean linens and apparel are available and properly distributed. The role emphasizes infection control, quality standards, and accurate recordkeeping within a caring housing and healthcare environment.

You will work in a team-driven setting across shifts, supporting hospital-style cleanliness and resident comfort.

Qualifications

• Tenth grade education is required; a high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
• One year laundry experience is preferred; on-the-job training is provided.
• Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.

Responsibilities

• Perform laundry functions including collection, laundering, redistribution, and inventory of linens and personal laundry.
• Press/iron garments as instructed and ensure clean laundry is distributed to residents and closets daily.
• Maintain quality assurance, infection control, and universal precautions during laundry procedures and report issues.
• Willingly share observations to improve quality and efficiency of operations and attend meetings.
• Maintain current records using computers or other documentation in line with standards and regulations.

Essential Activities and Tasks

• Operations Management - 75% Performs the laundry functions, including the collection, laundering, redistribution, and inventory of linens and personal laundry, in accordance with established procedures. Presses/irons garments as instructed. Folds, counts, stacks, hangs, and distributes clean laundry, linen, garments, etc. to residents and linen closets daily and/or as instructed. Ensures that an adequate supply of laundry and linen supplies are maintained in laundry closets to meet the needs of residents and staff members.
• Quality, Compliance, and Risk Management - 10% Ensures that established quality assurance, infection control, and universal precaution practices are maintained when performing laundry procedures. Reports any damages or repairs needing done to supervisor. Willingly and consistently shares observations and insight of departmental operations that may improve quality and efficiencies of department. Attends all-employee and departmental meetings and in-service training as scheduled or as directed.
• Customer Relations and Service Delivery - 10% Listens and responds to the needs of residents and staff members. Honors resident personal and property rights when performing laundry duties.
• Administration and Reporting - 5% Maintains current and accurate records through use of computers and/or other documentation in accordance with company standards and federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations. All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Education Tenth grade education required. High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Experience One year laundry experience preferred. On-the-job training provided.
