Job summary

Sittercity.com is seeking a reliable Household Helper for a Brookline, MA home. This role focuses on home care and daily maintenance; it does not involve childcare. The ideal candidate is organized, proactive, and comfortable working in a busy family environment.

The position is about 2 hours per day, 4 days per week, with hours flexible. Pay is $25 per hour. Responsibilities include laundry and bedding, kitchen upkeep, daily resetting of living and dining areas, light meal prep, and waste

Responsibilities

• Laundry & Bedding: Handle daily family laundry and make beds.
• Kitchen Maintenance: Load/unload dishwasher, wash dishes, wipe countertops, clean sink.
• Daily Reset: Organize main living and dining areas, tidy spaces.
• Light Meal Prep: Basic kitchen prep and light cooking as needed.
• Waste Management: Take out trash and recycling.

We are seeking a reliable, organized, and proactive Household Helper to keep our busy home running smoothly. Please note: This position focuses strictly on home care and daily maintenance; it does not involve any childcare.

The ideal candidate enjoys creating an organized environment and managing daily household flows, and can proactively get things done with minimal direction.

We are estimating that this job would be about 2 hours per day, 4 days per week. It could be a little less or a little more. Exact work hours are flexible and can be decided by the family and the candidate.

Pay is $25 per hour.

Key Responsibilities

• Laundry & Bedding: Handle daily family laundry (washing, drying, folding, ironing, and putting away) and make beds.
• Kitchen Maintenance: Load and unload the dishwasher, wash dishes, wipe down countertops, clean the sink, and maintain a tidy kitchen.
• Daily Reset: Clean up, straighten, and organize the main living room and dining room areas (picking up clutter, putting away books and toys, fluffing cushions, straightening surfaces, change tablecloth).
• Light Meal Prep: Assist with basic kitchen prep such as washing/chopping vegetables, portioning snacks, or thawing meats. Potentially to also do some light cooking.
• Waste Management: Collect and take out household trash and recycling to the bins.
