Responsibilities

Assesses patients and plans care for shift needs in all departments with assistance from nursing staff and department managers. Must demonstrate knowledge of growth and development principles across the lifespan and possess the ability to assess patient data, interpret relevant information, and provide appropriate care tailored to each department's requirements.

1. Manages overtime and unit staffing for all nursing staff based on budget, patient acuity, and census daily.
2. Communicates staffing decisions to Nurse Managers of concerned areas.
3. Ensures agency nursing staff are in appropriate units at scheduled times.
4. Responds to and intervenes in all emergency situations.
5. Coordinates all staff nurse sick calls and communicates information to the relevant manager.
6. Responsible for notifying on-call staff.
7. Coordinates after-hours procedures.

Qualifications

Required:

• BSN is required for Magnet or Pathway designated hospitals.
• Bachelor's Degree for Non-Magnet or Pathway designated hospitals.
• Registered Nurse (RN).
• Location assignment may also require BLS, ACLS, and/or PALS certifications.
• Five (5) years of clinical experience.
