Job summary

El Paso Behavioral Health System, part of Universal Health Services, seeks a Nurse Supervisor to lead clinical nursing teams and coordinate all nursing personnel. Under the Chief Nursing Officer, you will ensure quality care, uphold standards of performance, and develop staff through clinical activities and education.

The role requires a nursing degree, Texas license, 2–4 years in psychiatric nursing with Charge Nurse or supervisor experience, plus CPR and medication administration

Qualifications

• Education: Graduate from an accredited program of professional nursing required; Bachelor's Degree strongly preferred.
• Experience: 2-4 years of clinical experience in psychiatric nursing, including Charge Nurse or Supervisor experience.
• Licensure: Licensed to practice by the Texas State Board of Nursing.
• Additional Requirements: Medication administration exam, current CPR certification, Handle With Care training.

Responsibilities

• Lead the clinical nursing personnel and ensure quality nursing care using the nursing process.
• Coordinate unit goals, objectives and standards of performance and develop staff development activities.
• Direct nursing operations under the Chief Nursing Officer and ensure regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

Position Summary

The Nurse Supervisor is responsible for the clinical leadership and coordination of all nursing personnel. Under the direction of the Chief Nursing Officer, the Nurse Supervisor will assure quality nursing care utilizing the nursing process, as outlined by the Texas Nurse Practice Act. The Nurse Supervisor is responsible for ensuring unit goals, objectives and Standards of Performance are met as well as to develop, coordinate and implement clinical activities and staff development.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Graduate from an accredited program of professional nursing required; Bachelor's Degree strongly preferred.

Experience: Minimum of two to four (2-4) years of clinical experience in psychiatric nursing, including Charge Nurse, Supervisor experience required. Must have thorough working knowledge of Hospital, Nursing, and Management of Human Resources policies and procedures, with demonstrated ability to use skills in clinical and managerial situations.

Licensure: Currently licensed to practice by the Texas State Board of Nursing.

Additional Requirements: Must pass a medication administration exam before administering medications. Must have and maintain current CPR certification upon hire. Successful completion of Handle With Care to include physical hold and verbal de-escalation training during orientation.
