Job summary

Peregrine Hospitality in Avila Beach, CA is seeking a diligent Houseperson to maintain cleanliness and guest satisfaction across hotel floors. You will walk floors, handle linens, assist with housekeeping tasks, and ensure safety and courtesy to guests and staff.

Experience in housekeeping is preferred but not required. The role requires physical stamina, ability to lift up to 40 pounds, and reliable team collaboration; E-Verify participation and equal opportunity employer.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Walk assigned floors at beginning and end of shift; remove newspapers, trays, empty ash urns, remove trash and/or linens and note any areas that need immediate cleaning.
• Use proper two-way radio etiquette at all times when communicating with other employees.
• Use daily checklist to complete projects as assigned including but not limited to: ash urns, glass tables, furniture, polish floors, other projects as assigned by management.
• Practice safe work habits to ensure safety for guests, fellow employees, and self.
• Handle items for "Lost and Found" according to hotel standards.
• At the end of the shift, turn in all keys and assignment sheets to the Housekeeping Office.
• Report maintenance issues to Housekeeping Supervisor/Manager.
• Be familiar with correct guestroom cleaning procedures to assist with cleaning if needed.
• Vacuum guest corridors.
• Deliver any clean linen to assigned sections, if applicable.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the Housekeeping Office, linen rooms, storage closets, and stairwells.
• Ensure overall guest satisfaction.

Job description

Compensation:

$18.41 per hour

• Employees must at all times be attentive, friendly, helpful, and courteous to all guests, managers, and fellow employees.

Experience And Education

Physical Requirements

The minimum physical requirements for this position include but are not limited to:

• Must be able to lift and/or carry up to 40 pounds frequently to assist guests
• Ability to stand for extended periods of time
• Ability to hear, understand and communicate orally and in writing to communicate with staff, vendors and guests a normal in-person and phone conversation
• Ability to bend and twist, push and pull, stoop, and kneel
• Ascend and descend a ladder.
