Job Description Summary

The House Attendant (HA) works with the Housekeeping Management Team to assist Room Attendants on assigned floors or buildings by collecting dirty linens and transporting to the laundry area, delivering clean linens to Room Attendant carts, and retrieving trash throughout the hotel. Assist with the commercial laundry function and/or the cleaning of public area spaces, exterior entrances to the hotel, and parking lot. Will be assigned special projects as assigned by the Housekeeping Manager.

Duties and Responsibilities

1. Deliver on the promise of Sonesta Service in all interactions with guests and clients according to the Sonesta G.U.E.S.T. standards.
2. Assist Room Attendants with heavy items such as mattresses and linens. Deliver linens and other supplies to Room Attendants.
3. Maintain the cleanliness and organization of floor closets and corridors, including removing trash, wiping down shelves/counters, sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming floors.
4. Respond to guests’ requests promptly and efficiently.
5. Clean designated areas such as public restrooms, storage rooms, and other public spaces.
6. Report needed repairs or unsafe conditions to supervisor.
7. Respond to guest complaints and special requests to ensure guest satisfaction.
8. Minimize waste of supplies and amenities within all housekeeping areas.
9. Deliver lost and found items according to procedures.
10. Assist with deep cleaning projects when assigned.
11. When assigned to laundry, monitor supplies and equipment, operate washers and dryers, inspect linens, and report damages.
12. Promote teamwork and quality service through communication with other shifts and management.
13. Ensure compliance with health and safety laws.
14. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Requirements

1. Some housekeeping experience preferred.
2. Background in extended stay industry preferred.
3. Fluent in English; other languages beneficial.
4. Basic reading, writing, and math skills preferred.
5. Ability to stand, bend, climb, kneel, and move about the facility frequently.
6. Ability to lift up to 75 pounds.
7. Regular use of cleaning chemicals required.
8. Availability to work mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Additional Information

Pay Range: $17.00 - $18.00/hour, varies based on experience.
