Job Description

Time to advance your career! As a Culinary Supervisor, you will coordinate, plan, participate in, and supervise food production, preparation, and presentation for the IUP Dining Catering Department, reporting to the Catering Chef.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain work schedules and production packets, including recipes and sheets.
  • Oversee daily operations.
  • Ensure food safety and quality according to policies and standards.
  • Maintain organized, safe storage of food items.
  • Follow serving schedules and ensure food is served per menu specifications and safety standards.
  • Uphold health and safety regulations within the department.
  • Manage inventory weekly.
  • Prepare orders as needed for production accuracy.
  • Supervise, evaluate, and mentor staff, promoting teamwork and morale.
  • Maintain a safe working environment.
  • Perform equipment maintenance logs and preventative checks.
  • Recommend equipment upgrades as necessary.
  • Multi-task efficiently.
  • Assist with other duties as assigned by management.
  • Fill in for absent staff when needed.
  • Coordinate catering events and ensure timely delivery.
  • Work occasional nights and weekends for catering events.
  • Participate in staff meetings and maintain effective communication.
  • Perform cashier duties if required.
  • Promote positive public relations.
Qualifications
  • Ability to read, write, and understand instructions.

  • Knowledge of cost-effective food service operations.
