Job summary

Compass Group USA is hiring a full-time hourly Pastry Chef at New York Marriott Marquis in New York, NY. The role requires morning shifts, weekend and holiday availability, and prior high-volume pastry production experience.

You will supervise daily pastry production, follow recipes, manage costs, maintain food safety, and assist with inventory and ordering to deliver top-quality pastries and desserts.

  • Monitors sanitation of the pastry kitchen and equipment to meet regulations.
  • Assists with production planning, inventory management and stock rotation.
  • Assists in ordering and receiving all food and supplies.
  • Creates and executes daily production of top-quality pastries, desserts and baked goods.

  • We are hiring immediately for a full time HOURLY PASTRY CHEF position.
  • Location: New York Marriott Marquis - 1535 Broadway, New York, NY 10036. Note: online applications accepted only.
  • Schedule: Full time. Days may vary; morning shift, typically 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM. Weekend and holiday availability is required. More details upon interview.
  • Requirement: Previous high-volume food production experience is required.
  • Essential Duties and Responsibilities
    • Participates in the daily production and distribution of all pastries, desserts and baked goods.
    • Ensures recipes and standards are followed, food costs are controlled, and appropriate quantities are prepared based on established production needs.
    • Ensures proper food handling, presentation, portion control, and maintenance of proper serving temperatures.
    • Monitors and controls the maintenance and sanitation of the pastry kitchen and equipment to ensure a work environment that meets/exceeds federal, state, and corporate standards and regulations.
    • Assists with production planning, inventory management, and stock rotation.
    • Assists in the ordering and receiving of all food and supplies.
    • Creates, plans, and executes the daily production of top-quality pastries, desserts, and baked goods.
  • Pay Range: $20.00per hourto$29.00 per hour.

  • The use of a medium weight cut gloves when handling or using knives, peelers, choppers, mandolins or cleaning a slicer.

Job Summary

Summary: Creates, plans and supervises the daily production of top-quality pastries, desserts and baked goods.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Ensures proper food handling, presentation, portion control and maintenance of proper serving temperatures.
  • Monitors and controls the maintenance and sanitation of the pastry kitchen and equipment to ensure a work environment that meets/exceeds federal, state and corporate standards and regulations.
  • Supervises hourly kitchen/pastry associates, including interviewing, scheduling, payroll, training, counseling, participating in reviews and recommending disciplinary action, as appropriate.
  • Helps plan and implement seasonal menus.
  • Orders and maintains pastry supplies and products to ensure appropriate inventory levels.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
