JOB DESCRIPTION

JOB TITLE: LUBE TECH

DEPARTMENT: SERVICE

REPORTS TO: SERVICE MANAGER OR ABOVE

SUMMARY

Performs all duties related to the Express Lube Program.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

1. Performs work as outlined on repair order with efficiency and accuracy, in accordance with dealership and factory standards.
2. Performs Express maintenance, MPI inspections, and other related services.
3. Drains oil from crankcase and refills with required amount of oil.
4. Replaces oil and air filters.
5. Inspects vehicle fluid levels, replaces or replenishes as necessary.
6. Checks tire pressure and adds air if needed.
7. Lubricates moving parts with specified lubricants.
8. Communicates with parts department to obtain needed parts.
9. Reports machinery defects or malfunctions to supervisor.
10. Documents all work performed on the repair order.
11. Participates in manufacturer-sponsored training programs as assigned by service manager.
12. Keeps abreast of manufacturer technical bulletins related to immediate job.
13. Ensures that customers' cars are kept clean and notifies service advisor immediately of any changes in the vehicle's appearance or condition.
14. Keeps shop area neat and clean, including mandatory cleaning and mopping of stall at end of each shift.
15. Maintains and is accountable for all dealership-owned tools and manuals, returning them to the proper place and in the same condition as received.
16. Understands, keeps abreast of, and complies with federal, state, and local regulations, such as hazardous waste disposal, OSHA Right-to-Know, etc.
17. Operates all tools and equipment in a safe manner.
18. Immediately reports any situation or condition that jeopardizes the safety, welfare, or integrity of the dealership, its employees, or customers to management.
19. Complies with all company policies as required, including meal and rest period policy, timekeeping, and safeguarding of customer information.
20. Completes all required HR training modules in KPA.
21. Completes all required certification courses respective to position.
22. Maintains a valid driver’s license and immediately informs management of any changes in its status.
23. Maintains a professional appearance, along with a high level of personal grooming, hygiene, and uniform appearance.

MARGINAL DUTIES

In downtime, assists others in the service department or performs other duties as directed by management.
