Job Summary

Responsible for providing a safe and secure event environment, acting as a deterrent to unsafe or poor behavior by patrolling the venue, monitoring spectator behavior, enforcing school and District policies, intervening in physical encounters, monitoring security cameras, visitors, reporting unsafe conditions, and assisting with emergency or investigative situations. Work hours may vary, including evenings and weekends. This is a district-wide assignment; incumbents will be hired by the District Security and Athletics Departments and assigned to specific sites, with possible relocations based on operational needs.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Maintain safety and security, provide high visibility, patrol common areas, grounds, parking lots, intervene in verbal and physical encounters, diffuse hostility, enforce policies on weapons, tobacco, illegal substances, traffic rules, etc.
  • Discuss and mediate infractions, document incidents, report unsafe conditions and hazards to administrators and law enforcement.
  • Assist in investigations of illegal activities using security cameras, perform searches, and assist during crises.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Reporting Relationships

This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Criminal background check and fingerprinting
  • High School Equivalency diploma
  • Security, law enforcement, or military experience
  • Minimum age of 21
  • Racially conscious and culturally competent
  • Colorado driver’s license
  • Basic knowledge of office equipment, Microsoft Office, radio communication, organizational, interpersonal, and public relations skills
  • Intermediate verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively, maintain confidentiality, and prioritize safety
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
  • Heavy lifting (up to 100 pounds), outdoor work, exposure to weather, loud noise, prolonged standing, bending, reaching, climbing, lifting, speaking, vision, reaction, and flexibility to work evenings/weekends.
Desired Qualifications
  • Associate’s degree
  • Emergency response experience
  • Experience in the public sector and with diverse populations
  • CPR/First Aid, CPI, FEMA ICS 100 certifications
  • Bilingual skills
