Job summary

Brookdale Community College is seeking an Admissions Associate to support student recruitment, enrollment processing, and daily program operations. You will respond to inquiries, help with documentation and applications, coordinate communications, and refer students to campus services to promote student success.

The role includes keeping up-to-date records, assisting with EOF program activities, greeting visitors, handling calls, and connecting students with EOF Advisors and Financial Aid.

Overview

The Admissions Associate provides direct support for student recruitment, enrollment processing, and daily program operations. This position serves students and families by responding to inquiries, assisting with documentation and application requirements, coordinating communications, and facilitating referrals to appropriate campus services. The role contributes to a welcoming, student centered environment that supports student success and program compliance.

Responsibilities

Recruitment, Admissions and Enrollment

  • Assist with recruitment and admissions events and initiatives including high school visits, information sessions, Admitted Student Days, etc.
  • Coordinate the collection of enrollment related documentation including state, high school and college transcripts to ensure program compliance with college and statewide regulations.
  • Respond to student and community inquiries for information about the EOF Program and support with the application process for prospective, new and returning BCC students.
  • Explain program requirements, benefits and available resources to students and their families ensuring a clear understanding of EOF program objectives.
  • Collaborate/assist the EOF Associate Director, EOF Advisors, Financial Aid officers and other relevant departments to ensure accurate and timely processing of enrollment related paperwork.
  • Maintain up-to-date electronic records of EOF applications and program enrollment status.
  • Support the Director/Associate Director to design communication campaigns aligned with recruitment and enrollment goals.

Office and Operational Support

  • Meet and greet office walk-ins, answer telephone, schedule appointments, resolve problems where possible and/or refer where appropriate. Act as information resource for students, staff or the public requiring knowledge of both college and department’s enrollment management and student service operations.
  • Carry out functions and communications in support of EOF program, services and activities as assigned by supervisor. Utilizing student outreach tactics including phone, email and other available sources in fostering student engagement.
  • Perform office/departmental support functions, including but not limited to, preparation of routine letters, maintain office equipment and front office’s physical space.
  • Serve as point of referral to connect students to EOF Advisors, Financial Aid Office and other student services as appropriate.
Qualifications

Minimum Education & Experience Requirements

  • Associate’s degree; or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and abilities can be acquired.
  • One year of experience working in a busy, customer service-oriented position is desired.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities Requirements

  • Strong communication skills.
  • Proven ability to work effectively with students of varying ages and diverse backgrounds.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain strict confidentiality and ensure compliance with FERPA and related privacy regulations.
  • Ability to learn processes related to Admissions, Registration, Financial Aid, Advising and Testing Services and maintain broad-based knowledge
  • Computer literacy skills at an intermediate level with the ability to utilize and apply Microsoft Office Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint as well as specialized software programs and computer applications.
