Job summary

STEM Paths Innovation Network is seeking a part-time instructor to lead a STEM class for up to 20 elementary students focused on 3D printing. Sessions run on Wednesdays in December at African Community Housing & Development in SeaTac, WA, with hours from 3:00 pm to 5:30 pm.

The role requires experience working with diverse student populations, strong classroom management, and ability to move equipment (up to 50 lbs). A background check is required and substitutes are not available.

Qualifications

• Experience working with students from diverse backgrounds, including Title I populations.
• Experience with smooth classroom management and student engagement.

Responsibilities

• Lead and facilitate a class of up to 20 elementary students in STEM lessons with a focus on 3D printing.
• Supervise students to maintain a safe and productive environment within the building.
• Promote engagement by assisting students with projects and participating in activities.
• Monitor student behavior and support learning through positive classroom management.
• Attend required training and check-ins; maintain attendance records and administer post-surveys.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Lead & facilitate a class of up to 20 elementary aged students focused on STEM lessons focused on 3D Printing
• Supervise students throughout the building ensuring a safe and productive environment.
• Promote engagement by assisting students with projects and participating in activities.
• Monitor student behavior and support learning through positive classroom management.
• Attend required training and check-ins, maintain attendance records, and administer post-survey data.

PREFERRED SKILLS:

• Experience working with students from diverse backgrounds, including, but not limited to Title I schools where there is a familiarity with the unique challenges and needs of this population.
• Experience and background with Tinkercad Software.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

• Must be able to commit to the full December schedule - substitutes are not available.
• Must be able to pass a background check and/or fingerprinting.
• Must be able to frequently lift up to 50 lbs; perform loading and unloading of equipment between sites.

This is a part-time, W2 contingent staff position. Benefits are not available.
