Job summary

3A Composites is seeking a Hot Wire Operator in Statesville, NC, to manage the HotwireMachine operation cutting block foam. This role is essential to the Lamination Department and overall production.

The position is on the 2nd shift (Mon-Thu, 4pm-2am) with a non-exempt status. You will work with teammates, follow instructions, maintain safety, and support continuous improvement while delivering quality material.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Familiarity with mechanical equipment and basic math is a plus.
• Experience with machine tools and forklift preferred.
• Able to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 pounds.
• Wear PPE and follow safety procedures.
• Good communication and ability to follow instructions.

Location: Statesville, NC

Reports to: Production Supervisor

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Shift: 2nd Shift - Monday - Thursday 4pm-2am

Purpose

The Hotwire Operator position maintains all operation of the HotwireMachine, cutting block foam. This process and quality check is a very critical role for the Lamination Department and overall company operations.

Responsibilities

• Operating machinery and producing quality material while maintaining maximum productivity and efficiency of the production process.
• The operator is responsible for;
  • Working well with other co-workers in a team environment
  • The ability to follow both written and verbal instructions.
• Provides for and maintains a safe work environment with proper training and communications.
• Demonstrates 3A’s core values through; integrity, accountability, value creation, customer focus, team player, continuous improvement, humility and respect, and drive.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Previous manufacturing, knowledge of mechanical equipment, math skills and computer experience a plus.
• Use of machine tools and equipment such as; hand tools and forklift.
• Physical demands include; standing, constantly moving, reaching and lifting ten hours.
• Must be able to lift fifty pounds.
• Wear company provided PPE; High visibility clothing, steel-toed safety shoes, eye protection.
• Attention to detail, self-motivated, flexible and the ability to operate with minimal supervision.
