Job summary

The Charleston Place is seeking a Uniform Attendant / Tailor to repair, alter, and maintain staff uniforms, guest garments, and hotel fabrics. You will ensure high standards of presentation and durability across all fabric items.

Responsibilities include sewing, measuring, fitting, and tailoring for hotel staff, coordinating with the valet and laundry teams, and assisting guests with alterations while keeping the work area organized and safe.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of experience as a seamstress or tailor.
• Formal training in tailoring, fashion design, or related field is a plus.
• Hotel, laundry, or fashion industry experience is advantageous.
• Proven experience in sewing, alterations, and garment care.
• Knowledge of fabrics and proper care techniques; ability to operate industrial sewing machines.

Responsibilities

• Perform sewing, alterations, and repairs on staff uniforms and guest clothing.
• Measure, fit, and tailor uniforms for a professional appearance.
• Maintain sewing equipment and inventory of fabrics and notions.
• Coordinate with laundry/valet to prioritize workload.
• Provide mending for drapes and decorative fabrics when needed.
• Assist guests with alteration requests and maintain work area cleanliness.
