Job summary

Winnavegas Casino Resort in Iowa seeks a dedicated housekeeping associate to maintain hotel and grounds in a clean, attractive condition. Responsibilities include general cleaning, restroom sanitation, and assisting with banquet setup in a fast-paced casino environment.

Applicants should have a High School diploma or GED, strong customer service skills, excellent communication, and the ability to read simple instructions. Safe lifting and willingness to work in a smoky environment are required.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine cleaning duties (sweeping, vacuuming, dusting, mopping, windows, waste receptacles).
• Clean and sanitize restrooms and restock supplies.
• Follow chemical safety and lifting procedures; handle heavy objects.
• Maintain a positive, friendly, and professional demeanor with guests.
• Assist with setup/teardown for banquet facilities.
• Comply with all casino policies and department procedures.
• Perform shampoo/scrub crew duties as needed.
• Attend meetings and training as directed by management.
• Perform other assigned duties.

JOB SUMMARY:

Performs essential cleaning functions and properly maintains all areas of the hotel and grounds in an attractive and orderly manner.

JOB DUTIES:

1. Performs routine cleaning duties such as sweeping, vacuuming, dusting, mopping, washing windows/walls/brass/waste receptacles, trash collection, sidewalk snow removal/de-icer, etc.
2. Responsible for properly sanitizing and cleaning restrooms, and regularly stocking with supplies.
3. Must adhere to proper methods for cleaning and safety procedures; which includes chemical use, blood borne pathogens, and lifting/moving heavy objects/furniture.
4. Always perform duties in a positive and professional manner, and be friendly and courteous to guests and associates.
5. Assists with setup and tear down for banquet facility.
6. Must adhere to all policies and procedures of the casino and department.
7. Perform duties of the shampoo crew and/or scrub crew as needed.
8. Must attend all meetings and/or training as directed by management.
9. Perform other duties as assigned.

AUTHORITY AND SUPERVISORY CAPACITY

Possesses authority needed to accomplish 1 – 9 above.
