Job summary

TownePlace Suites Charlotte LoSo in Charlotte, NC is hiring for full-time Security/Overnight Shuttle Drivers. The position runs 11pm–6am with weekday and weekend availability required, and involves safe, courteous transport of guests to and from the airport and around the property.

You will patrol the interior and exterior, respond to incidents, file reports, assist guests, enforce policies, and maintain the hotel’s assets and safety.

Qualifications

• 21+ years of age.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Capable of following complex instructions.
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Knowledge of security operations and procedures.
• Previous security work experience is desired, but not required.
• Must have a valid driver’s license
• Must have a clean driver’s license with at least three years' driving experience on a full license
• Must be able to handle guest luggage in loading and unloading hotel vehicle

Responsibilities

• Provide a welcoming presence to ensure guests feel safe and well cared for during their stay.
• Patrol the interior and exterior of the hotel and the property to observe, identify and monitor potential safety risks, security risks and undesirable conditions
• Respond quickly and efficiently to any security incidents, emergency situations, or alarms, including safety hazards, fires, medical emergencies, and threats to life and property
• Respond to guest inquiries and resolves guest issues in a timely, friendly and efficient manner
• Delivers requested service items to guest rooms and manages outside guest deliveries
• Enforce all hotel policies while remaining calm and respectful towards guests
• Adhere to all company service and operating standards
• Protect the hotels assets relative to theft, assault, fire, and other safety issues
• File completed reports of all shift activity
• Occasionally assist in non-security related functions as determined by the Manager on Duty
• Listen and respond immediately to customer and associate inquiries and requests for assistance
• Greet customers in a welcoming and friendly manner
• Comprehend and abide by all traffic regulations while transporting customers to and from the airport or other designated site
• Remain calm and alert at all times while operating vehicle, especially in high traffic areas
• Lift luggage, packages and boxes from cars, vans, and carts, placing items on the ground, onto baggage carts, or conveyors
• Maintain cleanliness of the hotel vehicles by cleaning and washing it when needed
• Take vehicles for periodic servicing and fueling as required
• Complete a pre-driving checklist for vehicles on a daily basis ensuring that all operational parts are in proper working order

The TownePlace Suites by Marriott hotel, located near the Charlotte airport and Billy Graham Parkway, is hiring for full-time Security/Overnight Shuttle Drivers. The persons hired for these positions will work 11pm-6am; weekday and weekend availability is required.

PRIMARY PURPOSE:

Security - To ensure the safety of guests and associates and the security of the hotel and property in the hotel’s continuing effort to deliver outstanding guest service

Shuttle Driver - To transport guests in a prompt, friendly, and courteous manner using safe driving practices.

JOB SETTING AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Employees in this position work indoors and outdoors. To perform the job successfully, the candidate must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills in order to be able to assist hotel employees and guests; must be able to interact on a daily basis with guests and provide customers with a positive guest experience. This position often requires long periods of standing and walking as well as frequent reaching and kneeling, pushing, pulling, carrying, lifting and moving objects 50 lbs or more. The Security Officer must be able to quickly maneuver to any location in the hotel. Fluency in the English language and the ability to speak, hear, read and write are required as is the ability to work any hours/days of the week necessary to meet business requirements. Employees must be able to operate a vehicle, see clearly and possess excellent depth perception.
