Job summary

Theuniversityunion is seeking a Hotel Housekeeper in Ferndale, WA. You will clean and present hotel rooms and public areas to ensure guest satisfaction. This role requires physical stamina and attention to detail to meet standards.

Responsibilities include stocking supplies, making beds, changing linens, laundry tasks, and reporting any maintenance issues to supervisors. Must be able to follow instructions and work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination.
• Physical mobility and stamina required.
• Some computer knowledge.
• Must be 21 or older.
• Able to follow instruction.
• Ability to understand, read and write simple English, good communication skills are an asset.
• Detail oriented and good organization skills.
• Professional attitude is required.
• Able to work independently.
• Excellent time management skills, able to clean 14 rooms within 8-hour shift without help.

• Vacuum, clean, dust and polish guest rooms and public areas.
• Make beds, change sheets, remove and replace used towels and toiletries.
• Wash, dry and fold laundry.
• Strip bedding and perform special projects assigned by supervisors.
• Deliver and retrieve items on loan to guests, e.g. fridge, microwave, rollaway…
• Ensure security of guest rooms and privacy of guests.
• Report any out of order items in guest rooms and public areas to supervisor.
• Perform other tasks assigned.

Working conditions

• Working in laundry involve near moving mechanical parts and is exposed to risk of electrical shock..
• Work mainly in doors.
• Works in a moderate noise level environment, increasing to loud when in laundry.
