Summary

Responsible for performing a variety of guest service activities while providing the highest level of service possible in an efficient, courteous, and professional manner by following brand standards and adhering to guidelines and procedures.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Greet, register, and assign rooms to guests.
  2. Answer telephones and handle guest inquiries.
  3. Post charges (e.g., room, food, telephone), compute bills, collect payments, and make change.
  4. Make and confirm reservations.
  5. Monitor room availability and block rooms as needed.
  6. Program wake-up calls and handle guest mail/messages.
  7. Open and close shifts, making cash drops as necessary.
  8. Maintain market stock and coffee area.
  9. Finalize daily transactions and process credit card payments.
  10. Prepare and print folios for departing guests.
  11. Create, print, file, and transmit reports.
  12. Compile daily sales figures and complete daily reports.
  13. Complete End of Month procedures.
  14. Ensure the hotel PMS system balances with reservations; correct discrepancies.
  15. Provide guests with information on hotel services and local area directions.
  16. Assist in maintaining cleanliness of the lobby, front entrance, and surrounding areas.
  17. Check lobby fixtures and equipment for proper operation; report deficiencies.
  18. Schedule shuttle runs for guests (if applicable).
  19. Perform laundry duties as needed.
  20. Set up continental breakfast.

Requirements

Qualifications

One to three months of related experience and/or training; high school diploma or GED; or equivalent education and experience. Must be at least 18 years old.

Physical Demands

Regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds; occasionally lift/move up to 25 pounds.

Work Environment

Occasional exposure to fumes, airborne particles, chemicals, and dust. Moderate noise levels. Work environment is open to the public.
