Hotel Maintenance Technician (Line Engineer)
SUMMARY:
Maintain all equipment in good repair with minimal downtime by providing daily maintenance of the hotel under the guidance of Engineering Management. Continuously improve engineering services for guests and staff.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Report to work on time and in full uniform.
- Train and instruct team members, sharing knowledge and skills.
- Operate independently as a mechanic by analyzing problems, identifying solutions, and implementing them with available resources, ensuring high quality.
- Keep accurate records of completed tasks in project files. Lead by example in self-development.
- Perform plumbing tasks such as plunging toilets, unclogging drains, and repairing hardware, plumbing, and electrical equipment including lamps, air conditioners, and cosmetic items.
- Clean, lubricate, protect, and maintain all tools and equipment. Ensure tools are returned and stored properly.
- Protect and maintain your assigned tool pouch and tools as directed by Engineering Management.
- Monitor systems to stay informed of their operation and handle emergencies effectively.
- Have knowledge of fire sprinkler and emergency power systems. Observe and analyze energy and utility usage, suggesting conservation ideas to Engineering Management.
- Be available for emergencies, acting promptly to protect guests, staff, and property, and inform Engineering Management of incidents.
- Work safely, following all departmental Job Safety Analysis, and create a safe work environment.
- Identify hazardous conditions and take immediate corrective action.
- Read, log, and interpret readings from meters and gauges.
- Maintain a detailed log of daily activities and issues, passing information to other shifts.
- Keep engineering areas clean and organized.
- Assist as needed to ensure smooth hotel operations.
- Complete tasks safely and professionally, ensuring materials and supplies are available.
- Follow up on back-ordered items and keep supervisors informed.
- Provide training and technical advice to other engineers as needed.
- Stay informed of relevant laws, codes, and regulations.
- Maintain a professional image at all times.
- Ensure the hotel facilities and equipment are maintained safely and efficiently.
- Follow safety and security procedures to provide a safe work environment.
- Adhere to Standard Operating Procedures.
- Follow company rules as outlined in the Employee Handbook and perform other duties as assigned by management.
