Job summary

Sonesta International Hotels Corporation is seeking a Maintenance Tech in Orlando to perform general maintenance, repairs, and preventative tasks across hotel properties. The role requires vocational training and at least two years of building maintenance experience, with knowledge of plumbing, carpentry, electrical work, and equipment mechanics.

The position involves mornings/evenings, weekends, and holidays, with a focus on safe, efficient operation and guest satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Advanced vocational training plus two years of experience in general building maintenance or construction.
• Experience in extended stay industry or apartment building maintenance preferred.
• Knowledge of basic plumbing, carpentry, electricity, and equipment mechanics.
• Ability to speak, read, and write fluent English; other languages beneficial.
• Reading and writing abilities required to receive instructions and read equipment manuals including safety information.
• Mathematical skills including budgeting, profit/loss concepts, percentages, and variances.
• Problem solving, organizational and training abilities.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Frequently standing, bending, climbing, kneeling, and moving about the facility; lifting up to 75 pounds; mornings/evenings/weekends/holidays.

Responsibilities

• Deliver on Sonesta Service in all interactions with guests and clients according to Sonesta G.U.E.S.T. standards.
• Inform management of hazardous situations, emergencies or threats to guest, associate, or asset security.
• Complete work orders: painting, plumbing, lighting, repairs to pipes, fixtures, and equipment.
• Perform preventative maintenance duties as assigned.
• Monitor efficiency of HVAC and electrical systems; perform minor repairs or replacements.
• Refurbish furniture and fixtures; paint and finish as needed.
• Maintain exterior areas, signage, lighting, and snow removal.
• Ensure inventory and assets are secure; maintain clean entrance areas.
