Hotel Maintenance Technician - Hotel Alameda

Position: Hotel Maintenance Technician (Line Engineer)

Summary:

Responsible for maintaining all hotel equipment in good repair with minimal downtime by performing day-to-day maintenance under the supervision of Engineering Management. Aims to improve engineering services for guests and staff continually.

Responsibilities:

  • Report to work on time, in full uniform.
  • Train and instruct staff by sharing knowledge and skills.
  • Operate independently to analyze problems, identify solutions, and implement high-quality fixes using available resources.
  • Maintain accurate records of tasks and set an example for continuous self-development.
  • Perform plumbing repairs, unclog drains, and repair hardware, electrical equipment, lamps, air conditioners, and cosmetic items.
  • Clean, lubricate, and maintain tools and equipment; return tools to proper storage after use.
  • Protect and maintain assigned tools and tool pouches as directed by Engineering Management.
  • Monitor systems to stay informed of operations and handle emergencies.
  • Understand fire sprinkler and emergency power systems; observe and analyze energy and utility usage.
  • Identify energy-saving opportunities and report ideas to Engineering Management.
  • Respond promptly to emergencies to protect guests, staff, and property, and restore normal operations.
  • Follow safety protocols and work accident-free; identify and correct hazardous conditions.
  • Read, log, and interpret meter and gauge readings; track daily activities and issues.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of engineering work areas.
  • Assist in maintaining hotel operations as needed, following management directives.
  • Complete assignments safely and professionally; communicate needs for materials and supplies.
  • Provide training and technical advice to other engineers when requested.
  • Stay informed about relevant laws, codes, and regulations; uphold a professional image.
  • Ensure the safety and efficiency of hotel facilities and equipment.
  • Follow all safety and security procedures; adhere to Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Follow company rules as outlined in the Employee Handbook; perform additional duties as assigned.
