Hotel Maintenance Technician - Hotel Alameda
Position: Hotel Maintenance Technician (Line Engineer)
Summary:
Responsible for maintaining all hotel equipment in good repair with minimal downtime by performing day-to-day maintenance under the supervision of Engineering Management. Aims to improve engineering services for guests and staff continually.
Responsibilities:
- Report to work on time, in full uniform.
- Train and instruct staff by sharing knowledge and skills.
- Operate independently to analyze problems, identify solutions, and implement high-quality fixes using available resources.
- Maintain accurate records of tasks and set an example for continuous self-development.
- Perform plumbing repairs, unclog drains, and repair hardware, electrical equipment, lamps, air conditioners, and cosmetic items.
- Clean, lubricate, and maintain tools and equipment; return tools to proper storage after use.
- Protect and maintain assigned tools and tool pouches as directed by Engineering Management.
- Monitor systems to stay informed of operations and handle emergencies.
- Understand fire sprinkler and emergency power systems; observe and analyze energy and utility usage.
- Identify energy-saving opportunities and report ideas to Engineering Management.
- Respond promptly to emergencies to protect guests, staff, and property, and restore normal operations.
- Follow safety protocols and work accident-free; identify and correct hazardous conditions.
- Read, log, and interpret meter and gauge readings; track daily activities and issues.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of engineering work areas.
- Assist in maintaining hotel operations as needed, following management directives.
- Complete assignments safely and professionally; communicate needs for materials and supplies.
- Provide training and technical advice to other engineers when requested.
- Stay informed about relevant laws, codes, and regulations; uphold a professional image.
- Ensure the safety and efficiency of hotel facilities and equipment.
- Follow all safety and security procedures; adhere to Standard Operating Procedures.
- Follow company rules as outlined in the Employee Handbook; perform additional duties as assigned.
