Job summary

Highgate is seeking a hotel maintenance technician for the La Quinta Boston – Somerville property. The role focuses on routine operation, maintenance and repair of building systems and guestroom equipment, ensuring safe, well‑maintained facilities and quick responses to issues.

Responsibilities include preventive maintenance, HVAC and plumbing tasks, and occasional energy‑efficiency work. The ideal candidate has hotel maintenance experience and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Experience in a hotel or related field preferred.
• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Licensed in a trade (plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry) preferred.
• Valid driver’s license required; MVR may be checked.

Responsibilities

• Assist with operation, maintenance and repair of equipment.
• Change out light bulbs; perform preventative maintenance for guest rooms (vinyl repair, touch up paint, minor furniture repair, tub caulking, tile repairs).
• Perform preventative maintenance for ice machines, refrigerators, kitchen equipment, laundry equipment, HVAC, guestrooms, meeting rooms, pool and hot tub.
• Perform plumbing repair and energy conservation; repair vacuums and small equipment on request.
• Respond to alarms; determine location and cause, report findings to Front Desk.
• Other tasks as assigned by supervisor or manager.
