Job summary

Fairlane Hotel seeks a Hotel Maintenance Technician to perform hands-on maintenance and repair work that keeps the property running. This in-the-field role handles guest and staff work orders, preventive maintenance, and responsive repairs across guest rooms, public spaces, and back-of-house areas.

As an active on-site position in Nashville, you will work with the Engineering team, complete daily tasks in HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and carpentry, and ensure safety protocols are followed while

Qualifications

  • 1+ years of hands-on maintenance experience in a hotel, commercial building, or related trade setting.
  • Working knowledge of at least one core trade area (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, or carpentry), with willingness to cross-train.
  • Ability to follow instructions, complete assigned work independently, and communicate status clearly.
  • Comfort with basic workorder software (Optii a plus).
  • A reliable, safety-conscious, team-oriented approach.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs unassisted, climb ladders, work at heights, and maneuver in tight spaces.

Responsibilities

  • Hands-On Maintenance & Repairs: Complete daily repairs across HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, drywall, and general finish work.
  • Respond to guest and staff work orders promptly and with minimal disruption to the guest experience.
  • Maintain guest rooms, public areas, F&B outlets and three commercial kitchens, the rooftop, and backofhouse spaces to Fairlane's standards.
  • Work Order Execution: Complete assigned work orders in the Optii platform, logging status and closing out each request with a clear record.
  • Prioritize urgent guest-impacting issues and communicate delays to the Engineering Supervisor or Chief Engineer.
  • Follow up to confirm repairs and resolve the original issue before closing a request.
  • Preventive Maintenance & Asset Care: Carry out assigned preventive maintenance on schedule and fully documented.
  • Support the upkeep of mechanical, HVAC, refrigeration, watersupply, electrical, and elevator systems.
  • Report developing issues or unusual wear promptly, particularly on the building's original 1970s systems.
  • Emergency Response & Life Safety: Respond to engineering-related emergencies as directed, including fire alarm activations, flooding, power outages, and equipment failures.
  • Maintain working familiarity with building emergency systems, shutoffs, and evacuation routes.
  • Follow all safety protocols and immediately flag any lifesafety concern to a supervisor.
  • Teamwork & Professionalism: Support Front Office, Housekeeping, and F&B with prompt, courteous service on shared spaces and equipment.
  • Keep work areas, tools, and shared equipment clean, organized, and ready for the next shift.

Position Summary

Fairlane Hotel is seeking a Hotel Maintenance Technician to perform the hands-on maintenance and repair work that keeps the property running. This is an active, in-the-field trade role.

The Maintenance Technician completes guest and staff work orders, carries out preventive maintenance, and responds to mechanical issues across guest rooms, public spaces, and back-of-house areas.

RESPONSIBILITIESHands-On Maintenance & Repairs:

  • Complete daily repairs across HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, drywall, and general finish work
  • Respond to guest and staff work orders promptly and with minimal disruption to the guest experience
  • Maintain guest rooms, public areas, F&B outlets and three commercial kitchens, the rooftop, and backofhouse spaces to Fairlane's standards

QUALIFICATIONSRequired:

Preferred:

  • Experience in a boutique or independent hotel setting
  • Trade school training or relevant certifications in a mechanical discipline
  • Experience working in an older building with legacy mechanical systems

SCHEDULE

On-property position. Fairlane Hotel operates 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Must be available for rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
