Job summary

The Omaha Marriott Downtown, part of Marcus Hotels & Resorts, is seeking an Engineer I to maintain the building and equipment, perform preventative maintenance, and minimize downtime to ensure a premier guest experience in downtown Omaha.

Located in the Capitol District, this role involves daily shift reports, adhering to safety standards, and collaborating with guests and associates to address requests. Competitive benefits and room for growth are offered.

Qualifications

• Previous engineering experience preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• CFC Certification for Refrigerant handling and Power Engineering Training Program certification preferred
• Must be able to read and interpret documents such as Lockout Tag Out, SDS, safety awareness information, maintenance instructions and procedural manuals.
• Must be able to communicate effectively with guests and associates
• Must be able to analyze problems, identify course of action, implement solutions and work as an indecent mechanic.
• Represent the company in a courteous and well-groomed manner.
• Must be able to use and understand hand and power tools.
• Must be able to stand, walk, bend, kneel, lift, grasp, twist and stretch.
• Must be able to work a varied schedule to include days, evenings, weekends, holidays and the ability to work under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily shift reports including documenting all calls in the Engineer's log, monitoring and closing out calls through Marriott GXP system.
• Adhere to all OSHA standards and procedures.
• Maintain building interior and exterior.
• Foster excellent guest/associate rapport by promptly addressing requests.
• Perform preventative maintenance on all FF&E.
• Assist in cost control: Heat, Power, Light, Sewer and Water and provide recommendations for improved methods and procedures.
• Troubleshoot, repair and or maintain the following.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
