Job summary

Hotel Saint Vincent in New Orleans, LA, is seeking a full-time Maintenance Engineer responsible for preventive and corrective maintenance of the hotel property, interior, exterior, and grounds to deliver outstanding guest service and profitability.

The role requires high school education, hotel or maintenance experience preferred, and the ability to work swing shifts. Benefits include health, dental, life, and vision insurance, plus PTO and employee discounts at our restaurants.

Qualifications

• Hotel or maintenance experience preferred.
• Strong practical and technical skills.
• Good communication skills required.
• Understanding of engineering drawings and principles.
• Ability to work quickly and under pressure.
• Ability to manage a varied workload.
• Good problem-solving skills.
• Must be able to work independently or as part of a team.
• Awareness of health and safety legislation.
• Good eyesight and color vision.
• Equivalent work experience or advanced vocational training is a plus.
• Basic computer skills are necessary.
• Facility maintenance skills including HVAC, electrical, plumbing and small appliance repair.

Responsibilities

• Plan, implement, and ensure completion of preventive maintenance and safety measures on all hotel equipment and room assets per timeline.
• Understand electrical, plumbing, air conditioning, heating, and electronic systems.
• Experience in painting.
• Troubleshoot problems on various types of equipment.
• Know equipment safety systems and processes.
• Keep the grounds and landscaping neat and clean.
• Maintain interior and exterior assets and protections.
• Coordinate with other departments to prioritize guest experience.
• Respond to maintenance issues around the property.
• Maintain the pool, pool area, and pool maintenance.
• Inventory check on light bulbs, paint, gas, equipment, nails, screws, etc.
• Other assigned duties.
