Job summary

Carowinds in Marvin, NC is seeking a maintenance technician to uphold the hotel building, systems, and guest areas in prime condition. You will perform preventative maintenance, handle electrical, plumbing, and carpentry tasks, and respond to issues promptly to ensure guest comfort and safety.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, vocational training in trades, and at least 2 years of maintenance experience. Strong mechanical aptitude and knowledge of safety procedures are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Vocational/technical training in Electrical, HVAC, Plumbing, Carpentry or related work preferred.
• At least 2 years of maintenance or relevant work experience required.
• Knowledge of proper chemical handling techniques; proper maintenance techniques, requirements, and use of equipment; strong mechanical aptitude and knowledge of electrical and plumbing systems.

Responsibilities

• Maintains the hotel building and equipment and ensures guest rooms are in complete working order and public areas are free from maintenance blemishes.
• Ensures that all public areas including hallways, pool area, fitness center, banquet spaces, stairways, public restrooms, lobby are in good repair and mechanically sound.
• Conducts preventative maintenance inspections and takes corrective action as appropriate.
• Performs routine painting, plumbing, electrical wiring and other maintenance activities; makes routine repairs to hotel equipment.
• Communicates status of repairs, guest rooms, inventory levels, guest complaints, losses, and unusual situations to supervisor.
• Completes forms and department paperwork and follows department procedures.
• Provides guest service according to Six Flags standards when serving guests or working with subordinates.
• Meets scheduling requirements including nights, weekends, and holiday periods.
