Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience as a Maintenance Engineer
• 2+ years of Hotel experience preferred
• FDNY Q01 License required
• Strong knowledge of building maintenance and systems
• Troubleshoot and repair routine plumbing, HVAC, mechanical and electrical malfunctions
• Proficient in basic computer usage
• Ability to work varied shifts including evenings, weekends and holidays
• Maintain high personal appearance and grooming standards

• Maintain and repair plumbing, mechanical and electrical systems throughout the hotel, including HVAC, painting, and light carpentry.
• Be skilled in HVAC, electrical, carpentry, drywall, painting, and plumbing.
• Perform regularly scheduled preventative maintenance assignments.
• Communicate with hotel departments regarding maintenance tasks and follow-up.
• Maintain a safe working environment.
• Interact with guests and hotel staff in a courteous, professional manner.
• Provide warm, personalized service to guests.
• Be proactive in resolving maintenance and guest issues.
• Be reliable and punctual with attendance.
• Approach service with urgency and attentiveness.
• Listen actively to guests and staff to address issues correctly.
• Perform other duties as requested by ownership and management.

Job description

The Bryant Park Hotel is looking to add an experienced Hotel Maintenance Engineer to its dynamic team. This position will focus on the maintenance and upkeep of the property and its facilities.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair plumbing, mechanical and electrical systems throughout the hotel as needed, including HVAC, painting, and light carpentry.
• Be skilled in several diverse areas such as HVAC, electrical, carpentry, dry wall, painting, and plumbing.
• Perform regularly scheduled preventative maintenance assignments.
• Communicate effectively with all hotel departments in addressing maintenance assignments and follow-up as required.
• Maintain a safe working environment.
• Interact with all guests and hotel visitors in a courteous, professional and polished manner.
• Must be able to provide warm and personalized high-level service to guests.
• Must be proactive in resolving maintenance and guest issues.
• Must be reliable and consistent in terms of timeliness and attendance.
• Must have a sense of urgency with approach to service.
• Must be a skilled active listener so that guests and hotel staff communicating maintenance issues can be fully understood and addressed correctly.
• Perform other duties as requested by ownership and management.
• Must have a valid FDNY Q01 License

Salary Range: $31 to $35 per hour, based on experience and certifications

Requirement to Apply

• 4+ year of experience as a Maintenance Engineer, 2+ years of Hotel experience preferred.
• Strong general knowledge of building maintenance and systems.
• Must have a valid FDNY Q01 License.
• Ability to troubleshoot and repair routine plumbing, HVAC, mechanical and electrical malfunctions in hotel systems and equipment.
• Ability to recognize potential safety hazards and security problems in the hotel and act upon each accordingly.
• Proficient in Basic computer usage.
• Ability to work varied shifts, including evenings, weekends and holidays.
• Capacity to flex with the variable scheduling needs of the hotel.
• Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming.

Preferred Qualifications

• FDNY FLSD License
