Job summary

The Pierside Hotel, part of Sage Hospitality Group, is hiring a Maintenance Engineer to service guest rooms and hotel systems in a fast-paced Santa Monica setting. You will handle preventive maintenance, respond to service calls, and ensure safe, efficient operation of HVAC, plumbing, electrical and related equipment.

Qualified candidates will have a high school diploma or equivalent and at least 6 months of relevant experience, with the ability to work independently and in a team.

Qualifications

• Experience maintaining HVAC, electrical, plumbing equipment.
• Ability to drive pickup truck and snow removal equipment.
• Ability to maintain logs and records.
• Professional presentation and ability to work in a team while making independent decisions.

Responsibilities

• Respond to guest requests in a courteous, efficient, safe manner.
• Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on hotel equipment including kitchen, laundry, boiler, plumbing, pool, HVAC, electrical and guest rooms.
• Monitor engineering functions when full staff is not available and respond to emergencies.
• Make rounds to ensure everything is in working order.
• Clean and maintain all equipment and work areas.
• Document parts used and maintenance requests, update logs.
• Handle elevator breakdowns.
• Maintain records for Preventive Maintenance and Requests.
• Complete daily work order forms and report unsafe conditions.
