Job summary

First Hospitality, owner of the Hilton Garden Inn Minneapolis Downtown, seeks a Maintenance Engineer to uphold the hotel’s facilities and systems. You will perform preventative maintenance, respond to guest needs, and ensure safe operation of building and equipment.

You’ll handle repairs across plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and general building tasks while coordinating with hotel departments to minimize guest disruption. Join a team committed to exceptional service and safety.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of maintenance experience
• High School diploma or equivalency required
• Electrical and/or plumbing certification preferred
• Valid driver’s license may be required

Responsibilities

• Proactively maintain the physical building structure, building systems, and equipment by performing preventative and routine maintenance
• Complete grounds and custodial work as needed or assigned
• Use tools and other power equipment, following all safety guidelines to ensure safety of self and others
• Complete building, equipment, or room repairs including plumbing, painting, carpentry, sheetrock, and electrical work
• Prioritize repairs that may inconvenience or negatively impact guests’ experience
• Communicate with hotel departments to ensure timely response and completion of maintenance needs
• Listen to guests and address concerns, notifying other departments as needed
• Maintain professionalism consistent with hotel brand and company expectations
• Know and communicate hotel emergency procedures; assist guests or operations in emergencies
• Balance and secure house bank and log all transactions if applicable
