Job summary

Sage Hospitality Group seeks a Maintenance Engineer to keep hotel systems safe, reliable, and efficient. You’ll diagnose faults, perform preventative and corrective maintenance, and reduce downtime on site at the UNC Charlotte Marriott.

Role requires knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and carpentry with ability to document work and coordinate with the team. Opportunity for growth and strong community engagement offered.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent trade school, with courses in building maintenance.
• Minimum 6 months of experience in a similar maintenance role.
• Ability to diagnose and repair HVAC, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and renovation work.
• May require ability to drive pickup truck and snow removal equipment.
• Ability to maintain logs and records.
• Professional presentation and ability to work in a team and make independent decisions.

Responsibilities

• Respond to and handle guest requests in a courteous, efficient, safe manner.
• Perform preventive maintenance and necessary repairs on hotel equipment, including kitchen, laundry, boiler, plumbing, pool, HVAC, electrical and guest rooms.
• Monitor and maintain all engineering functions when full staff is not available; respond to emergencies and notify authorities.
• Make rounds to ensure everything is in working order.
• Clean and maintain all equipment and work areas.
• Complete maintenance requests, take readings, and maintain logs; document parts used and needed.
• Handle elevator breakdowns.
• Maintain records of Preventive Maintenance and Request Programs.
• Complete work order forms daily and timely; report unsafe conditions.
