Job summary

Valor is seeking a skilled Maintenance Engineer to respond to service calls, prioritize guest comfort, and uphold a safe, well‑maintained hotel environment on the PM shift. You will perform preventive maintenance and repairs on kitchen, laundry, boiler, plumbing, pool, HVAC, electrical and guest rooms, take water samples, and monitor systems to maintain temperature and safety.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent trade school.
• Two years prior experience in building maintenance and construction.
• Ability to maintain and repair HVAC, electrical, plumbing equipment and perform carpentry, repair work, construction and renovation work.
• Communicate information and hotel services to management, staff and guests.

Responsibilities

• Respond to guest requests in a courteous, efficient, safe manner.
• Perform preventive maintenance and necessary repairs on all hotel equipment, including kitchen, laundry, boiler, plumbing, pool, HVAC, electrical and guest rooms.
• Take water samples of boiler, loop, and cooling tower systems and treat the water to maintain predetermined levels of chemical concentration.
• Operate equipment; maintain domestic hot and cold-water systems and monitor electrical switch gears to ensure proper operation.
• Maintain cleanliness and general maintenance in engineering spaces and other assigned daily operations.
• Make rounds of the hotel property to ensure everything is in working order.
• Complete maintenance requests, take equipment and meter readings, and maintain log for the next shift.
• Respond to emergency situations including fire alarms, bomb threats, disasters and power failures; notify authorities.
• Handle operation of the boiler and chiller and maintaining temperatures throughout the building.
• Assist with maintenance of parking lot and snow removal as needed.
• Perform special projects and other responsibilities as assigned.
