Job summary

Texas Hotel Management is seeking a dependable Hotel Maintenance Engineer to oversee preventive maintenance and repairs across guest rooms, public areas, meeting spaces, and restaurant facilities. The role requires hands-on skills in electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry and general building maintenance.

The ideal candidate brings 1–3 years of hotel maintenance experience, a high school diploma or equivalent, and a penchant for safety and guest satisfaction.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required; trade certification is a plus.
• 1–3 years of hotel maintenance, facilities maintenance, or building engineering experience preferred.
• Working knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems, carpentry, and mechanical repairs.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily inspections and preventive maintenance across the property, including guest rooms, public areas, and equipment rooms.
• Respond quickly to maintenance requests from staff and guests, ensuring prompt issue resolution.
• Troubleshoot and repair minor electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and mechanical problems.
• Assist with general carpentry, painting, and property upkeep as needed.
• Maintain tools and equipment in safe working order and report major repairs to the Chief Engineer or Director of Engineering.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards and hotel maintenance policies and procedures.
• Keep maintenance areas clean, organized, and stocked with supplies.
• Participate in the hotel's preventive maintenance program to minimize equipment downtime.
• Respond to emergencies such as fire alarms, leaks, or power outages and coordinate with front desk and management.
• Foster a positive, cooperative, and professional work environment with other team members.

• Ability to use basic maintenance tools, meters, and safety equipment.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift or move up to 100 lbs occasionally , 50 lbs frequently , and 25 lbs regularly.
• Must be able to stand, walk, bend, and reach for extended periods.
• Comfortable working in varying environments (indoor/outdoor, hot/cold conditions).
