Job summary

Omaha Marriott Downtown is seeking an Engineer I to maintain the hotel's building and equipment, perform preventative maintenance and keep downtime to a minimum. You will log daily shifts, follow Marriott GXP systems, and ensure safety and quality in a fast-paced hospitality environment.

Ideal candidates have prior engineering experience, high school diploma, and ability to read safety documents; strong communication with guests and associates is essential.

Qualifications

  • Previous engineering experience preferred.
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • CFC certification and relevant training preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret safety documents such as Lockout Tag Out and SDS.
  • Good communication with guests and associates.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, lift and twist as required.

Responsibilities

  • Perform daily shift reports documenting calls in the Engineer's log.
  • Adhere to OSHA standards and procedures.
  • Maintain building interior and exterior.
  • Address guest/associate requests promptly to foster rapport.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on FF&E.
  • Assist in cost control: Heat, Power, Light, Sewer and Water.
  • Troubleshoot, repair and maintain equipment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

What will you be doing?
  • Perform daily shift reports including documenting all calls in the Engineer¿s log, monitoring and closing out calls through Marriott GXP system.
  • Adhere to all OSHA standards and procedures.
  • Maintain building interior and exterior.
  • Foster excellent guest/associate rapport by promptly addressing requests.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on all FF&E.
  • Assist in cost control: Heat, Power, Light, Sewer and Water and provide recommendations for improved methods and procedures.
  • Troubleshoot, repair and or maintain the following:
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
What do you bring to the role?
  • Previous engineering experience preferred.
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • CFC Certification for Refrigerant handling and Power Engineering Training Program certification preferred
  • Must be able to read and interpret documents such as Lockout Tag Out, SDS, safety awareness information, maintenance instructions and procedural manuals.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with guests and associates
  • Must be able to analyze problems, identify course of action, implement solutions and work as an indecent mechanic.
  • Represent the company in a courteous and well-groomed manner.
  • Must be able to use and understand hand and power tools.
  • Must be able to stand, walk, bend, kneel, lift, grasp, twist and stretch.
  • Must be able to work a varied schedule to include days, evenings, weekends, holidays and the ability to work under pressure.
