Omaha Marriott Downtown At The Capitol District is seeking a dedicated Cook to join our culinary team in downtown Omaha. You will prepare and cook all food items according to menus and expedite orders quickly.

Qualifications

• 3 years of cooking experience; culinary or apprenticeship preferred; high school degree or equivalent.
• Able to work varied shifts including days, nights, weekends and holidays.
• Able to lift up to 100 lbs, stand long hours, and work in hot environments.
• Proficient at saute, line, and broiler stations; read POS orders.
• Knowledge of seafood stocks, grilling, sauteing, frying, and cold prep.
• Able to obtain sanitation, liquor service, or food service certifications.
• English reading ability required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook food quickly and correctly following all required recipes and complete in a timely fashion.
• Store food properly, use rotation, dating and labeling.
• Determine inventory and requisition from storeroom.
• Set up equipment needed for preparation prior to service.
• Maintain high-quality food production and presentation; ensure plates look crisp and clean.
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of cooking area and personal hygiene.
• Communicate with other cooks, wait staff and management.
• Other duties as assigned.
