Job summary

Four Points by Sheraton Tampa Airport Westshore is seeking an energetic Cook to join our Food & Beverage team. The successful candidate will prepare and cook menu items according to brand standards while maintaining a clean, safe kitchen environment.

Experience in a hotel, restaurant, or high-volume kitchen is preferred. This role requires flexible availability across AM/PM shifts, weekdays, weekends, holidays, and occasional overtime.

Qualifications

• Previous hotel, restaurant, or high-volume kitchen experience preferred.
• Ability to prepare multiple menu items simultaneously while maintaining quality.
• Knowledge of food preparation techniques and kitchen equipment.
• Understanding of food safety and sanitation practices. ServSafe Certification is preferred (or willingness to obtain).
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Must be dependable, punctual, and maintain a positive attitude.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook breakfast, lunch, dinner, banquet, and special event menu items.
• Follow standardized recipes, portion controls, and presentation standards.
• Maintain food quality, freshness, and consistency.
• Properly prepare ingredients by washing, cutting, measuring, and portioning.
• Ensure all food is stored, labeled, dated, and rotated according to food safety standards (FIFO).
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen equipment, workstations, storage areas, and walk-in coolers.
• Assist with receiving, stocking, and organizing food deliveries.
• Monitor inventory and notify management of product shortages.
• Follow all health department regulations and company food safety procedures.
• Work collaboratively with the culinary and front-of-house teams to ensure timely service.
• Assist with banquet functions and special events as needed.
• Perform opening, closing, and side work duties.
• Maintain a professional appearance and provide excellent internal and external customer service.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.
