Job summary

Margaritaville Resort Gatlinburg is seeking a House Person to support the housekeeping team, ensuring supplies and items are ready for guest rooms and public areas. The role involves responding to guest requests, assisting with linens, and maintaining cleanliness across guest rooms and public spaces.

The position requires a friendly demeanor, strong verbal communication, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team, including day, night, weekend shifts.

Qualifications

• Strong verbal communication skills required.
• Friendly, outgoing personality and professional appearance required.
• Ability to work independently with little supervision.
• Must be able to work as part of a team.
• Physical stamina and mobility for reaching, kneeling, bending and lifting.
• Knowledge of cleaning and sanitation products, techniques and methods.

Responsibilities

• Cleans rugs, carpets and upholstered furniture using a vacuum cleaner, broom and carpet shampoo machine.
• Cleans rooms, hallways and restrooms.
• Washes walls and ceilings; moves furniture and turns mattress.
• Sweeps, mops, scrubs, waxes and polishes floors.
• Dusts and polishes metalwork.
• Collects soiled linen for laundering.
• Assist Room Attendants with carts linen and supplies.
• Removes trash collected by room attendants.
• Walks assigned floors at start/end of shift to collect trash and soiled linen.
• Delivers towels, cribs, cots and other items to guest rooms on request.
• Performs duties of room attendant when necessary.
• Helps with heavy lifting during deep cleaning rooms.
• Cleans all public areas per SOP.
• Removes soiled linen and trash from pool side and other service areas.
• Assist with placing bed boards, roll-ways beds, extra bed etc.
• Report missing/found articles, damage or merchandise problems to housekeeping supervisors.
• Always respond in a friendly, helpful manner to guests and colleagues.
• Takes up any tasks assigned by supervisors.
• Report to work in required uniform and adhere to Dress Code Policy.
• Must be able to work independently and as a team player.
