Job summary

The Sunray Companies are seeking a dedicated housekeeper for the Home 2 Suites Hammond team. The role focuses on detailed cleaning and guest satisfaction, with flexible weekend and night shifts as the hotel operates 24/7.

Responsibilities include cleaning corridors and rooms, restocking supplies, and maintaining sanitation standards. Prior housekeeping experience is preferred and a positive, energetic attitude is essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Knowledge of cleaning and sanitation products, techniques and methods.
• Knowledge of cleaning sensitive materials.
• Working knowledge of operating cleaning equipment.
• Physical stamina and mobility including ability to reach, kneel and bend.
• Ability to lift, push and pull required load (about 30lbs).

Responsibilities

• Clean corridors, lobbies, stairways, elevators and guest rooms.
• Organize work schedule from room status list, arrivals and departures.
• Distribute linen, towels and room supplies using carts or by hand.
• Restock room supplies such as drinking glasses, soaps, shampoos and writing supplies.
• Replace dirty linens with clean items.
• Inspect and turn mattresses regularly.
• Store dirty laundry per company policy.

The Sunray Companies, a growing company, has a wonderful opportunity available for a flexible, honest, friendly, high-energy, hard-working, guest-focused individual that has a knack for attention to detail. Our Home 2 Suites Hammond team is looking to add a new member to our housekeeping department and has flexibility including weekends and nights since our hotel is open 24/7. Prior housekeeping experience is preferred. Our hotel housekeeping staff perform a wide range of essential tasks, helping to ensure the smooth clean operations that result in happy customers.

In addition to general housekeeping tasks the housekeeper duties in a hotel will include:

• clean corridors, lobbies, stairways, and elevators as well as guest rooms
• organize work schedule from the room status list, arrivals and departures
• distribute linen, towels and room supplies using wheeled carts or by hand
• restock room supplies such as drinking glasses, soaps, shampoos, writing supplies
• replace dirty linens with clean items
• inspect and turn mattresses regularly
• store all dirty laundry in line with company policy
