Job description

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Part-Time Hotel Housekeeper to join our housekeeping team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining clean and comfortable guest accommodations while providing excellent customer service. This position requires a commitment to work weekends and may include some holidays. A full job description is included below.

Job Summary:

The Housekeeper Position is responsible for ensuring that guest rooms and bathrooms are cleaned and properly sanitized. This position also assists in maintaining the cleanliness and sanitation of the public areas of the hotel. This is a service oriented position and requires good interpersonal communication skills and friendly professionalism while attending to guest requests. You are required to respect the privacy of our guests and are entrusted with the safekeeping of our guest’s belongings.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Perform cleaning duties in all guest areas and public areas using appropriate checklists.
  • Ensure housekeeping departmental standards and checklists are followed.
  • Respond in a timely manner to guests’ special requests for miscellaneous items like cribs, cots, extra towels, etc.
  • Maintain inventory of necessary supplies.
  • Work quickly and efficiently for a timely readiness of the rooms for guest arrival.
  • Communicate room readiness promptly to the Front Desk.
  • Report necessary maintenance items.
  • Follow departmental policies and procedures.
  • Follow all safety and sanitation policies and procedures.
  • Assist other departments when needed to ensure optimum service to guests.
  • Sanitize all cleaning tools including mops, brooms, etc, at the end of shift.
  • Maintain a friendly and professional attitude when interacting with guests and fellow staff members
  • Assist with laundry duties as needed.
  • Performs other duties as assigned. The company reserves the right to add or change duties at any time.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Adherence to housekeeping guidelines and checklist
  • Knowledge of proper cleaning and sanitation procedures
  • Good interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Good organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Hotel housekeeping or related experience preferred

Physical Requirements:

  • Able to stand for prolonged periods
  • Able to climb ladders
  • Able to climb stairs
  • Able to walk hallways and perimeter of property
  • Able to twist, bend, reach and pull
  • Able to lift up to 50 pounds
