Description

Summary

Responsible for the overall cleanliness of assigned guest rooms, ensuring standards are met while providing professional service to all guests.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Maintain a clean and organized supply cart.
  • Sort, count, fold, mark, or carry linens.
  • Change linen and make beds.
  • Sweep, scrub, and mop floors.
  • Dust furniture and fixtures.
  • Wash walls, ceilings, woodwork, windows, door panels, and sills.
  • Clean and sanitize bathrooms.
  • Empty wastebaskets and transport trash.
  • Vacuum carpets, upholstered furniture, and draperies.
  • Move furniture, hang/remove drapes, roll carpets as needed.
  • Replenish guest room supplies.
  • Ensure beds are made with fresh linens.
  • Ensure bath towels are clean and stain-free.
  • Tag and turn in lost and found articles.
  • Inspect rooms for maintenance needs and report deficiencies.
  • Clean lobby, lounge, restrooms, corridors, elevators, stairways.
  • Replace light bulbs as needed.
  • Deep clean assigned guest rooms and replenish amenities.
Competencies

Demonstrate punctuality, ability to work alone or with others, follow instructions, respond to management, follow policies, ensure safety, handle customer situations, resolve problems, make decisions, contribute to team spirit, treat others with respect, maintain confidentiality, communicate effectively, and continuously improve skills.

Requirements

Education and/or Experience: Up to one month of related experience or training; less than high school education or equivalent.

Language Skills: Ability to read simple words and communicate professionally.

Mathematical Skills: Ability to add/subtract numbers up to 100.

Reasoning Ability: Apply common sense to carry out simple instructions; deal with standard situations.

Physical Demands

Must regularly lift/move up to 25 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds; ability to move, traverse, and operate equipment.

Work Environment

Exposure to chemicals, dust, odors, fumes; environment open to the public; moderate noise level.
