Job summary

Hyatt Regency La Jolla is seeking a General Maintenance Engineer to provide maintenance support across guest rooms, meeting spaces, and public areas. The role requires troubleshooting skills and the ability to handle guest requests, with a focus on reliable, flexible coverage and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Strong customer service skills to satisfy guests in fast-paced environment.
• Open availability including mornings, evenings, overnights, weekends and holidays.
• Good verbal and written communication skills; basic computer literacy.
• Ability to walk, stand, climb ladders, lift up to 50 lbs alone and up to 75 lbs with assistance.
• Reliable and able to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Respond to guest request calls and service issues.
• Perform routine public area and guest room repairs.
• Troubleshoot minor mechanical, plumbing and electrical issues in guest rooms.
• Assist with setup of equipment for special events.
• Maintain maintenance log and inventory of tools and parts.
