Summary

Responsible for performing a variety of guest service activities while providing the highest level of service possible in an efficient, courteous, and professional manner by following brand service standards and adhering to guidelines and procedures.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Greet, register, and assign rooms to guests.
  2. Answer telephone calls.
  3. Post charges (e.g., room, food, telephone), compute bills, collect payments, and make change for guests.
  4. Make and confirm reservations.
  5. Monitor room availability.
  6. Block rooms.
  7. Program wake-up calls.
  8. Handle guest mail and messages.
  9. Perform check-out services.
  10. Open and close shifts, making cash drops as necessary.
  11. Maintain market stock and coffee area as needed.
  12. Provide information regarding hotel hours and available services, such as restaurant, lounge, and room service.
  13. Assist guests with directions and local area information.
  14. Help maintain cleanliness of the lobby, front entrance, and surrounding areas.
  15. Check lobby fixtures, equipment, and conditions (lights, heating/cooling, furniture, wallpaper, etc.) for proper operation, settings, and maintenance; report deficiencies.
  16. Schedule shuttle runs for guests (if applicable).
  17. Provide safe transportation to guests using the hotel shuttle vehicle (if applicable).
  18. Perform laundry duties as needed.
  19. Maintain the continental breakfast area, including closing and cleaning.

Requirements

Qualifications

One to three months of related experience and/or training; high school diploma or GED; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Minimum age: 18 years.

Physical Demands

The associate must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.

Work Environment

The associate is occasionally exposed to fumes, airborne particles, chemicals, and dust. The noise level is usually moderate. The work environment is open to the public.
