Job description

Job Summary

The Maintenance Associate is responsible for supporting the hotel maintenance operations and hotel assets, including refrigeration, heating, plumbing, and maintaining top quality standards as required.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Provide professional and courteous guest service at all times.
  • Assist in maintenance operations for the facility, including but not limited to: refrigeration, heating, plumbing, water softeners and treatment, A/C units, ice machines, lighting, kitchen equipment, emergency equipment/systems, switch rooms, roof exhausts, electrical substations, painting, wall covering repairs, etc.
  • Ensure all projects are completed according to specifications and on time.
  • Possess comprehensive knowledge of guest room electronic locks.
  • Secure and maintain key inventory for all hotel locks.
  • Responsible for the telephone system, high-speed internet, movies, and cable.
  • Assist and instruct craftsmen in scheduling work, materials, and project completion.
  • Maintain and participate in a preventive maintenance program for guestrooms, public spaces, and all equipment.
  • Maintain the cleanliness of the grounds and attractiveness of landscaping.
  • Ensure cleanliness and orderliness of workspace and storage areas.
  • Available for on-call and weekend work as required.
  • Adhere to safety requirements and attend safety training, complying with all OSHA, state, and federal guidelines.
  • Assist in ensuring the building is prepared for city and state inspections.
  • Ensure the cleanliness and orderliness of all workspaces and storage areas.
  • Ability to work well with a diverse group of people.
Additional Duties
  • Complete projects as determined by management.
  • Perform inventory duties as required.
  • Attend team meetings.
  • Work closely with all departments and assist them as needed.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Education or Experience: High school diploma or equivalent; one to two years engineering experience or training; or equivalent combination of related education and experience.
  • Language Skills: Must have developed language skills to the point to be able to read, analyze, and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, and technical procedures. Ability to effectively respond to questions from management, customers and clients.
  • Mathematical Skills: Requires mathematical development sufficient to be able to calculate figures, discounts, area, and circumference. Compute ratio, proportion, and percentages. Calculate surface, volumes, weight and measures. Possesses sharp ability for attention to detail (able to quickly identify variances in standards), working efficiently and flexibly. Ability to multi-task and be highly organized while working under pressure.
  • Reasoning Ability: Must have developed reasoning skills to be able to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. Ability to handle problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Valid Driver’s License – Must be able to travel to and from work sites and/or pick up materials/supplies to perform work duties. Must have a valid NH driver’s license.
Physical Requirements
  • Non-slip, steel-toed safety shoes are recommended.
  • Ability to pass pre-employment drug test, physical and/or lift test, background check and driver record check.
  • Complete online safety training and use required safety gear as provided by the company.
  • Requires walking and standing to a significant degree, reaching, handling, climbing (ladder), kneeling, crouching, stooping, talking, hearing and seeing.
  • Lifting up to 80 lbs. maximum with frequent lifting and/or carrying or transporting of objects or equipment weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Inside environmental conditions protected from weather conditions. Potential exposure to paint, solvents, and cleaning chemicals and/or fumes. Exposure to extremes of noise and vibration and temperature changes.
  • Noise and Vibration: Sufficient noise, either constant or intermittent, to cause marked distraction or possible injury to the sense of hearing, and/or sufficient vibration to cause bodily harm if endured day after day.
  • Temperature Changes: Variations in temperature, which are sufficiently marked and abrupt to cause noticeable bodily reactions including exterior cold, heat, humid and wet conditions.
