  • Oversee preventative maintenance programs for guest rooms, public spaces, mechanical equipment, and hotel infrastructure, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting, drywall, and life safety systems.
  • Inspect, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain hotel equipment, systems, and facilities while ensuring compliance with brand and company standards.
  • Ensure timely response to guest, associate, and management maintenance requests to maximize guest satisfaction and room availability. The original standard includes responding within 15 minutes whenever possible.
  • Monitor and maintain life safety systems, including fire extinguishers, emergency lighting, smoke detectors, alarms, and other required safety equipment.

  • Manage pool maintenance and chemical testing in accordance with company, brand, and applicable jurisdictional standards when applicable.
  • Maintain clean, organized engineering shops, storage areas, and hotel grounds.
  • Develop department budgets, recommend capital expenditure projects, and manage expenses within approved budget guidelines.
  • Manage vendor relationships, coordinate outside contractors, and oversee specialized repair projects.
  • Respond to emergency situations, investigate alarms, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records, equipment documentation, inspections, and preventative maintenance logs.
  • Support additional projects and assist other departments as needed to ensure overall hotel success.
