Job summary

Shamin Hotels is seeking a Chief Engineer to oversee all maintenance and engineering operations across our properties. You will manage the maintenance team, implement preventative maintenance programs, and ensure safe operation of mechanical, electrical, and HVAC systems.

The role requires senior-level experience in hospitality maintenance, strong leadership, and deep technical knowledge of building systems.

Qualifications

• Senior maintenance/engineering experience in hospitality or facilities management.
• Thorough knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and fire safety systems.
• Strong leadership and delegation skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication, collaboration across departments.
• High attention to detail in planning, documentation, and records.

Responsibilities

• Oversee maintenance team and operations to ensure safe and efficient facility performance.
• Develop and manage preventative maintenance programs for mechanical, electrical, and HVAC systems.
• Oversee maintenance and repair of equipment and machinery (boilers, HVAC, plumbing, electrical).
• Prepare and manage departmental budget, forecast expenses, identify cost-saving opportunities.
• Ensure compliance with building, fire safety, environmental, and health & safety regulations.
• Develop and implement emergency response protocols for equipment failures and outages.
• Coordinate with external vendors/contractors for maintenance projects and ensure quality, timely completion.
• Lead and develop the maintenance team, fostering collaboration and continuous improvement.
