Job summary

Fairfield Inn & Suites Saraland is seeking a hands-on Chief Engineer to lead the hotel's Engineering and Maintenance operations, ensuring safety, efficiency, and compliance with Marriott standards. You will manage preventative maintenance, repairs, budgeting, and a team of engineers, coordinating with vendors and hotel leadership to keep the property fully operational and guest-ready at all times.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Chief Engineer or senior hotel engineering leader.
• Strong hands-on knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and building systems.
• Experience leading and developing an Engineering/Maintenance team.
• Experience managing vendors, contracts, and maintenance budgets.
• Knowledge of hotel safety, fire/life-safety standards, and OSHA requirements.
• Ability to work weekends and holidays as needed.

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee daily engineering and maintenance operations.
• Supervise and develop the Engineering team; coordinate training.
• Establish and manage preventive maintenance programs.
• Inspect rooms, public areas, and building systems for condition.
• Coordinate with vendors and contractors for projects.
• Monitor energy usage and identify efficiency opportunities.
• Prepare and manage maintenance budgets and reporting.
