Job summary

The role requires HVAC, electrical, plumbing and construction knowledge, with the ability to read blueprints and interpret test equipment.

Qualifications

• Previous hotel engineering experience required, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing and general building construction.
• Vocational training, associate's degree, certification and/or apprenticeship in one or more area; state certification or licensure where required.
• Ability to read and interpret drawings, diagrams and blueprints; understand test equipment and measuring devices.
• Strong business communication skills, verbal and written.
• Flexibility to work varying schedules including nights, weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Make sure the hotel is in great working order and meet operational standards.
• Conduct walk-throughs and assess maintenance and operation of the hotel structure, systems and equipment.
• Manage preventive maintenance for rooms and public areas and keep records updated.
• Collaborate with hotel management team and General Manager.
• Hire, train, supervise, coach and counsel associates, including managers.
• Maintain grounds to provide a great arrival experience.
• Implement safety and emergency policies and procedures per OSHA Hazcom program.
