Job summary

Crescent Hotels & Resorts is seeking an Engineering Supervisor to lead the day-to-day engineering operations in a busy hotel environment. You will supervise maintenance staff, coordinate preventive maintenance, and ensure safety and regulatory compliance across HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and life-safety systems.

The role requires hands-on leadership, strong technical knowledge, and the ability to manage priorities in a 24/7 setting. Flexibility for shifts and guest-focused service is essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1–2 years in building maintenance or engineering; hotel experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems.

Responsibilities

• Perform and supervise maintenance on HVAC, electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and life-safety systems.
• Inspect guestrooms, public areas, and back-of-house spaces to ensure brand standards.
• Respond to maintenance service requests promptly to minimize disruption.
• Assist with special projects, renovations, and capital improvements.
• Ensure preventive maintenance programs are followed and updated.
• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations for building systems, safety, and environment.
• Complete inspections and documentation for life-safety systems (fire alarms, generators, sprinklers).
• Conduct safety inspections and participate in drills.
• Maintain lock and key control and building security standards.
• Report hazards and non-compliance to engineering leadership.
• Supervise and coordinate activities of engineering associates during shifts.
• Assign daily work orders and ensure timely completion.
• Assist with training, coaching, scheduling, and performance feedback.
• Promote teamwork and service culture.
• Hands-on maintenance as needed to support team.
• Help maintain inventory of tools and supplies.
• Assist with ordering parts and materials while supporting cost-control.
• Maintain storage areas and equipment.
• Coordinate with vendors for services and repairs.
• Communicate maintenance priorities to management.
• Maintain maintenance records and logs.
• Interact with guests courteously when addressing maintenance concerns.
• Identify opportunities to improve maintenance efficiency and energy usage.
• Escalate major issues and recommend corrective actions or capital needs.
• Assist in budgeting and capital expenditure discussions.
