Job summary

Shamin Hotels in Virginia Beach seeks a Maintenance Engineer to keep our Hampton Inn & Suites by Hilton Virginia Beach Town Center running safely and smoothly. You’ll perform repairs across HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, and building systems, while addressing guest and staff requests and conducting routine preventive maintenance.

You will maintain logs, support life-safety systems, and ensure compliance with brand and company safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Performs repairs and maintenance across HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, and general building systems.
• Responds to guest and staff maintenance requests promptly and professionally.
• Conducts routine preventive maintenance on guest rooms, public areas, and equipment on schedule.
• Maintains accurate logs of repairs, inspections, and preventive maintenance completed.
• Supports life-safety systems and ensures compliance with OSHA, brand, and company safety standards.
• If applicable, maintains pool and spa systems and water chemistry in accordance with local health requirements.
• Abides by the regulations set forth by the material safety data sheets when handling chemicals.
• Identifies and escalates larger repair or capital needs to the Chief Engineer.
• Maintains a clean, safe, and organized work and storage area.
• Reports for scheduled shifts, on time and in uniform, in accordance with company policy.
• Takes the initiative to greet guests in a friendly and warm manner.
• Performs other related duties as required.

Position Overview

• Job Title: Maintenance Engineer
• Location: 4595 Columbus Street, Virginia Beach, VA 23462
• Reports To: Chief Engineer / General Manager
• Schedule: Full-time. Variable hours, must include weekends and holidays; may include an on-call rotation.
• Work Environment: Modern hotel in the heart of Virginia Beach's Town Center business and entertainment district

The Maintenance Engineer keeps the property safe, comfortable, and fully functional by performing repairs and preventive maintenance across guest rooms, public spaces, and building systems. This is a hands-on role responding to guest and staff requests, troubleshooting issues, and maintaining hotel equipment to brand and safety standards.
